Here are my ideas for how to get cosy at home in winter. I’m sure this will be useful for so many people who are spending more nights indoors as the colder nights draw in.
We are all spending more time at home in the coming winter months. Naturally, we tend to just spend more time at home. I usually spend more time at home in winter anyway. I don’t particularly enjoy being out in the cold and my skin doesn’t like it either, I use so much more moisturiser in the colder months as my skin gets dryer.
Waking up these past few mornings to frosty ground and temperatures at zero, I think winter is making an appearance early. While we are still technically in Autumn the cold and the frost have made me want to get cosy.
This has got me thinking about how I am going to spend my time during the next few months. It is always best to be prepared and I have a number of ways to help.
How To Get Cosy At Home In Winter
Get comfortable
I like to be warm and snuggly at home, it’s my favourite place to be and I want to be comfortable there.
There are so many loungewear sets for sale at the moment and I love them.
Getting bathed and ready for bed if a favourite part of my evening times. I love my Chelsea Peers pyjama sets, they go up to size 28 for any of my plus-size readers wondering. Getting into them, especially my Christmas pyjamas makes me feel amazing.
With online shopping being my favourite pastime and ASOS, especially with their constant sales I have an abundance of suitable cosy casuals. Filling your winter wardrobe with all the comfortable clothing is a necessity.
Create some aromas
Give me a cinnamon or vanilla festive candle to burn or a wax melt and I’m a happy girl. The smell of Christmas to me has to be cinnamon. It reminds me of my parents making mulled wine around Christmas time when I was young.
Christmas markets usually have a mulled wine or even mulled cider stand and I always make a beeline. I probably have my parents to thank for my love of mulled wine.
Not sure whether we will get to any markets this year though with the lockdown. However, I always see what Christmas markets are happening. I find Easyjet the most affordable flight to take for short-haul when visiting the markets.
Enjoy warm food
A warm, hearty stew cooked in a slow cooker always goes down a treat.
I love using the slow cooker as they are so easy, you can’t really go wrong. Plus it saves you spending your time over the stove when you could be doing something else.
Hearty meals don’t need to be unhealthy. A chunky soup with warm bread goes down a treat in the wintertime.
Blankets
I don’t typically have throws and blankets around the house as I have pets and they will claim them. I keep them stored away to use as and when needed.
But as soon as the weather changes, the blankets come out and take their spots on the sofas. Shops such as Dunelm are my favourite places to buy blankets as they are great value for money.
We can’t change what’s going on in the world around us but we can change how we are in our own homes.

I like to have a nice hot shower, put my pyjamas on , light a candle and watch tv
