Slimming World Journey Month One Weight Loss Update

My Slimming World journey after month one is something I thought was worth sharing. I don’t think I have ever managed to stick to a diet for a whole month before so that was an achievement in itself. But my one-month weight loss results are something I’m really proud of. So here are my Slimming World results month one.

Last month you might have read on my site that I joined a local Slimming World Group

I know I’m not meant to call it a diet, it’s a lifestyle change. But to me, it is still a diet. It is a change in my previous eating habits to hopefully lose weight.

It has been 4 whole weeks ‘on plan’ and my results have astounded me. I didn’t expect to see and feel so different after just 4 weeks. My 1-month weight loss results are impressive if I do say so myself

Slimming World was something I have known about and had seen lots of success stories from. For whatever reason, despite wanting to diet I had always been sceptical about signing up. The Slimming World weekly costs are affordable and there are often offers in magazines for free joining fees.

This year I decided that I would join and I am so pleased I did.

I knew I had to go to the group to keep me on track, rather than following Slimming World online. I am more likely to stray off track if I am not held accountable and going to the groups makes me want to succeed more.

So my Slimming World Journey started and this is what happened during month one

Slimming World Results Month One

Weekly Routine

Each week I turn up at my local group, and there seem to be new members joining every week. My group isn’t huge and everyone is really friendly and welcoming.

Lots of the same faces, and the process seems to be the same each time as well

We start the group with each being weighed. This is completely private and no one else can see your weight apart from the person weighing you. This tends to be the same person each week

Your loss or gain is written down in your book, and then you take a seat in the area for Image Therapy

Image Therapy isn’t compulsory and you are under no obligation to stay to it, but I feel it helps.

We sit and discuss how much has been lost, and awards are given to members who have reached specific milestones.

Every half a stone lost is awarded a certificate and a sticker.

New food ideas or meals people have created or have enjoyed are discussed, to help give each other food-spiration.

You can just sit there and listen or join in as much as you feel you want to. I often ask questions as I feel I’m still learning about the change in lifestyle.

Slimming World Results after 1 Month

In 4 weeks I have lost 22 lbs, yes twenty-two pounds by purely sticking to the plan. That is 3 certificates and stickers, I get very excited about getting an award it really makes it feel like an achievement.

I have not starved by any means, actually, I feel like I have eaten more than I usually would in a week. The difference is what food I am eating.

I am not one who likes ready meals, so I do cook everything pretty much from scratch. I use SpiceNTice a lot to help with my meal prep, so I know I have a tasty meal to look forward to each day.

Which has rekindled my love for cooking which I have enjoyed. I was never someone who enjoyed spending time preparing food but the results have kept me keen to keep cooking.

The plan changes how you prepare and cook your food. The ingredients and seasonings used are a pivotal part of the taste.

So what you end up eating is a lot better for your body, and the fuel your body needs. Ultimately you lose body fat.

In my fourth week, I also won Slimmer of the week

I also won Slimmer of the month

The Future with Slimming World

I am feeling very optimistic about the coming months and trying to lose weight.

If the past 4 weeks have taught me anything it would be, to trust the plan, it works!

Now on to my second month feeling very positive and motivated.

That’s a brilliant result, well done! I’m following SW too, at home, but I don’t weigh myself (well not until I’m slimmer anyway) as finding out my weight will deflate me and cause me to eat as would only gaining or losing a small amount but my clothes are definitely looser so I know I’m going in the right direction overall and that helps keep me on track!
Being excited about what I’m going to eat also helps keep me on track, I’m in a couple of SW Facebook groups plus I get emails from a couple of SW friendly food bloggers so I browse through the photos and make a list of what dishes excite me and then they’re my menu for the next week or so. I’m off to see your new Instagram page to see what you’ve been having now!

Thank you, i am really pleased with my progress. I would love to know what Facebook groups you are in so I can join and get more food inspiration. I find seeing the types of meals others eat really helpful too. Good luck with your journey, I find going to the group helps keep you motivated as you are amongst like minded people. I was nervous at first but it really is a good way to keep motivated x

Years ago I went to some Weight Watchers and Rosemary Conley groups and they just weren’t for me. I realise these ones may not be the same but I feel fine without them.
This is one of the groups https://www.facebook.com/groups/slimmingeats/ the other one is https://www.facebook.com/groups/325078348244235/
Here’s a couple of great food blogs for recipes https://www.facebook.com/pinchofnom/?ref=br_rs and https://www.facebook.com/twochubbycubs/ but be warned, this last one is not for the easily offended!

PS your SW Instagram doesn’t seem to be working for me (@dianewood2), I’ve seen other people report of a glitch that seems to be blocking people , ones who haven’t even looked at pages before! Thanks x

well done on your weight loss. I need to lose some weight, but I’m not sure about joining a group as I don’t know if I would be motivated more or put off by it.

Amazing progress! I have just hit my target weight – it took me a year to lose 3.5 stone but I always have a takeaway and a bottle of wine on a weekend haha it hardly feels like a diet does it!

I started slimming in January and lost 1 and a half stone. I went on holiday in June and put on and I’ve been struggling ever since. I found it easy before but I just can’t get back into it.

Fantastic! Well done to you with your weight loss and getting Slimmer of the week and month! I’m a fellow slimming world fan but completely struggling with lockdown. You don’t realise you miss something as much when you can’t go! I look forward to reading about your continual progress.
