Gift Ideas For An Expectant Parent

New parent gift hamper

Hampers make great presents as they often combine many useful products into one beautifully packaged hamper.

It saves you on sourcing items you are not familiar with and even wrapping them.

Typically gift hampers will include nappies, wet wipes, muslin cloths, diaper rash cream, breast pads, and keepsake trinkets or cuddle toys. But if you are putting together a hamper yourself you could make a personalised hamper for that extra special touch.

Practical gifts for new parents

While hampers make very pretty and thoughtful gifts every new mum will tell you that practical gifts are some of the most well-received.

With their first journey home being one to remember, there are many gifts that are not only helpful but necessary. For instance, items such as Nuna, Premium Car Seats, Pushchairs, and Baby Gear AU are vital to the upbringing of a child and are fantastic gift ideas for new parents. These are also amazing for the safety and comfort of the baby.

Practical gifts can include baby bedding such as cot bed fitted sheets, the more they have the better especially if their baby is prone to reflux or exploding nappies.

Diaper genies are another great practical gift. A diaper genie is a bin that is specifically for all of those dirty nappies and masks the smell.

Newborn romper suits and booties are a great gift idea as babies can require multiple outfit changes a day sometimes. Sleepsuits and hooded baby towels for bath and bedtime routines, or other clothing items which will be necessary as the baby grows.

Alternatively, a practical gift for the mum-to-be is a pregnancy pillow or breastfeeding pillow. Any mum who has had one will recommend it. A pregnancy pillow/nursing pillow helps mum get a comfortable night’s sleep during pregnancy and helps provide a supportive and comfortable position for nursing the baby.

Gifts for the parents

When a newborn baby arrives life as you know it is thrown upside down.

Day becomes night and night becomes day and doing even the simplest of tasks can become a chore.

A great gift to help new parents ease into the transition of navigating life with a demanding newborn is to buy them a meal subscription service or frozen meal plans. Meal subscription boxes can help take the stress and thought out of evening meals. They come with all the ingredients and recipes to follow and this can be the perfect gift for new, tired, and stressed-out parents.

Another great idea is to buy a pamper set for mum, she will be hard pushed for time but some nice body oil or face cream to keep her feeling like herself will go a long way.

Finally, a memory book can make a wonderful keepsake for new parents, allowing them to capture and preserve those precious early memories of their baby’s life. Memory books, such as those that can be found here, offer a lovely way to document milestones, making it easier to cherish these special moments for years to come.

A nappy caddy

New parents will spend a lot of time changing nappies and having everything on hand will make the process a lot easier and quicker. A nappy caddy is a great gift that can simplify the whole process.

It comes complete with easy access compartments that store nappies, wipes, creams, sanitisers, spare clothes, and diaper bags – you name it there is space for it in an easy-to-use, easy-to-transport nappy caddy. It is the gift new parents didn’t know they needed.

Baby clothes

Buying baby clothes is an obvious one but what many people do is buy lots of newborn clothes that the baby will only be able to fit into for a short space of time.

Buying clothes for slightly older babies such as 3-6 months or even 6 months plus can be a great present for mums. It will ensure they always have something on hand to dress their growing baby in and save them the expense of purchasing an entirely new wardrobe when their little one changes size.
