Smooth skin with derma roller
I recently had the opportunity to use and review a derma roller from Derma Roller System
The concept of derma rolling or micro-needling is quite simple
The derma roller works by creating tiny punctures into the skin to stimulate skin repair and cell regeneration. When the body sustains an injury or wound, it heals itself by creating new collagen. This ultimately leads to better looking skin, which I feel I am battling at the moment with ageing skin
This along side Jade rolling, is something new which I thought it would be good to try this summer
Using A Derma Roller
A derma roller is simply rolled across the areas of your skin you wish to help boast the collagen. Typically the face but it is not limited to the face
There are approximately 200 fine medical grade needles which puncture the skin surface
I can confirm since using it, that this is not a completely painless procedure. However, you would have no idea you are having your skin punctured though. Applying the pressure yourself also helps with the pain reaction. You can obviously feel that its a bit sharp, but not unbearable
When you apply a cream or a serum to your skin, if you then use a derma roller the absorption rate is far superior than when you don’t. Up to 40 times more. This is due to the micro channels the needles have made in your skin’s surface

The Results
The guidelines for using a derma roller state to give it 5-6 weeks before you notice a difference. I can confirm I noticed a difference sooner than that. I have been using it on my face as I have some dark sun spots near my eye which I usually cover up with foundation
The sun spot hasn’t gone altogether but only after using this for 4 weeks, I would say it is definitely less dark

The skin renews itself every 40 days. When you have your treatment it should be carried out for at least three months. This is the guidelines as everyone is different
Results depend on the condition you are treating, the needle length used, and how extensively your body needs to remodel the affected area. For instance deep frown lines would take longer to improve than fine lines

Derma rolling was something that was recommended to me by someone who has also treated me with botox injections. After the recommendation I was keen to give it a go, and I will continue with my rolling
