This is my review of JL Formulations Natural Spa Skin Scrub. JL Formulations is a new brand to me, not something I had previously heard of or used.

JL Formulations was set up by a lady called Joan Robertson. Joan believes all skincare should be natural and therefore derived from natural sources. Being an animal lover Joan wanted all her products to be cruelty free.

These factors were high on her list if not her most important concern when developing products.

As well as being cruelty free the importance of the products being bio-degradable was essential.

There has been huge media coverage about toxic micro beads in cosmetics. But thankfully Joan had consciously ensured her products didn’t contain any toxic ingredients. Everything is natural, which therefore dissolves naturally.

JL Formulations Natural Spa Skin Scrub

To start with I made sure to remove all my make up from the day.  I then covered my face entirely with the product and lathered up

I did start with just a pea-sized amount.  The instructions say ‘a small amount‘ and as I felt I needed more, I added more and worked that in too

In circular motions using my finger tips, I worked the product all over my face

As I was applying the product I could feel the grains on my skin. It  isn’t too harsh or unpleasant but helps with the massage sensation as the product is being applied and is rather enjoyable

The sweet aroma the product has is rather delightful, a Vanilla and Honey scent serenades you as you apply the cream which makes the exfoliation even more enjoyable

Once you are satisfied you have covered your entire face you need to ensure it is washed off thoroughly

Make sure all traces are removed and the product is cleaned off using plenty of water

I hopped into the shower and washed my face, and carried on with the rest of my cleaning routine including washing my hair

The results are instant, your skin feels so fresh and incredibly smooth straight away

I did get a tiny bit of redness, blotches on one of my cheek bones, that is likely to be where I massaged it a bit too rough in that area

You need to make sure you apply an appropriate amount of pressure with your fingers, otherwise you can feel the scratch of the amber grains

The next morning my face was still feeling extremely fresh, there was no unpleasant-ness whatsoever

The slight redness on my cheek bone had also gone entirely and my skin was smooth and super soft

I also found applying my primer and foundation the following day was a lot smoother and generally my complexion was brighter

The results lasted about 5 days however, I do wear make up daily and some days quite heavy make up so if you don’t typically wear much make up you would probably feel the results lasting longer than I did

I love facials and often have them as part of my self love days where I get my nails or hair done but actually I got exactly the same results with this product

The website says its a daily scrub but I haven’t been using it daily as I really don’t feel I need to

That is great because I get to maintain the benefits of using the scrub over a longer period of time

Would happily recommend it all skin types without hesitation

I believe you cant use it if you suffer from Rosacea though
