I was recently invited to ‘Pause’ at The Chapel Horsham for a complimentary hair appointment
The Chapel in Horsham is the newest of The Chapel salons to open
Taking some time out for self care is something I believe to be really important for everyone
Self care can be anything from setting aside time to read a bit of your favourite magazine, or going to the gym
My favourite form of self care is pampering
This for me varies from manicures, pedicures, facials, trips to the hairdressers and going to the spa
The Chapel History
You might have heard or seen the award winning hair salon chain The Chapel, founded by Amanda Dicker
This is the fifth UK salon and they proudly have another one in Switzerland
Amanda has completely re-written the rules of hair salons, and is encouraging us to all take some time to ‘pause’ and have those self care moments
All of the salons are luxurious and inclusive. As a guest you are made to feel special throughout your stay. The hospitality is a first class service alone
Exemplary hosting and inviting ambiance helps removes all fear, and relaxes you into enjoying your pause day
The salons are all purposely distinguished buildings. With the first launching in an old Baptist chapel in Tunbridge Wells
Another in an old Victorian pub in Islington, London
Horsham salon, is an old Gospel Hall which has been spectacularly renovated

The Chapel Horsham
I attended the salon a week before my appointment to have a skin patch test, as I usually have my hair coloured as well as cut when I visit the hair dressers
Every year it is advisable to have a skin patch test done to ensure you are not going to have any reaction to the chemicals used in the dye colour. This was my first ever visit to The Chapel Horsham, so my patch test was necessary
Upon entering the building I was greeted by a grande vision, which is this luxurious lounging area of velvet sofas and arm chairs. The high ceilings and visible steel works which have been majestically designed to capture the grand scale of the building
It really was a vision to admire, such a glamorous style
The work stations are situated in their own quarters, sectioned off giving you privacy by these elegant suspended mirrors
You are never looking at, or being seen by any of the other customers
Which for me made me feel less on show, therefore easier to relax, just what I needed
If like me your hair ends up being engulfed by foils and hair dye you don’t have to think about how you look as no one else can see you
It really made me feel at ease
Colour schemes have all been cleverly designed with mood and feelings as the principle factor
The hair wash stations are even designed with mood in mind
They are sensually lit to keep you in a state of relaxation
I find siting waiting for my hair colour to develop a bit boring. Usually I would just sit at my station, with a magazine listening to the chatter of the rest of the salon
Not at The Chapel!
I was taken to a luxurious seating area, where I was waited on to drinks. You can even order food off the menu if you are hungry. So i tucked into some delicious sweet snacks while I waited
The Chapel will change how you want to go the hair dressers in the future
Your stylist is your’s for the duration of your visit, you are their only customer while you are in their hands
The elegance and style of the venue is captivating and you are tranced into a relaxed state
It makes the experience one which you want to do over and over again, or never leave in my case
My stylist was Kylie who is also local to Horsham herself, and I am delighted with how my hair looks

Wow this looks great! Not only does the decor of the interior look amazing but the atmosphere you have described is incredible. I always feel so anxious going into the hairdressers and this looks absolutely perfect! There needs to be more like this.
Looks like a very sympathetic re-use of an old building. I like how they have put the hair stylists upstairs. I personally hate hairdressers where you are on display in a high street window while you are getting your hair done. I avoid those like the plague.

The location seems fabulous and it is wonderful that you get a dedicated stylist for your visit. Staff wandering off and doing other jobs and chattering seems to be increasingly common today’s salons and finding one that really looks after you is well worth paying extra for.
Wow this looks like an amazing experience , I dont usually enjoy the salon time due to the time it takes sat in the “chair”. Being able to relax while I am waiting for the colour, and maybe have a snack seems appealing.

That looks amazing. There is nothing worse than having your hair cut right in front of the shop window. I look terrible whilst going through the haircut stage and having to wave at a neighbour who is walking by at the time is very off putting. The whole experience of the Chapel seems very relaxing and something that would be great to try.
