The Clubhouse Steak & Grill Crawley

I was a new diner at The Clubhouse  Steak & Grill Crawley from the beginning of 2020

Having lived in Crawley a number of years and being a huge fan of dining out, I’m now surprised I hadn’t heard of The Clubhouse sooner

My first introduction to them was via a Facebook residents page where they posted an advert. Not your usual type of advert, this was for Christmas day offering free food. An open invitation to anyone who was alone or merely wanted to join them on Christmas day for non-traditional dinner

A very charitable act from a local independent businessman and it was really humbling to see. After seeing pictures on their Facebook page of some of the food they served, I knew instantly I would be eating here in the near future

Following on from that I made enquiries into reservations for the new year

Location

The Clubhouse is based in Cherry Lane playing fields, which is in the Langley Green area of Crawley (RH11 7NX)

A short drive from Gatwick Airport. If you are staying in a hotel near by before a holiday I recommend you check this place out

There is ample parking at the playing field grounds so you should be fine getting a parking space if you drive there

It is actually walking distance from my house, and I have also walked my dogs in this playing field a number of times. I just assumed it was The Clubhouse for the Crawley Eagles Cricket Club. Little did I know of the delights that was on the menu

Dining In

I made a reservation on my first visit not knowing what to expect

Reservations are not always necessary as I found out, especially if you are having late lunch or an early dinner. Mainly on the weekend I would suggest you book a table for evening dinning. If you have a slightly larger group visiting I would also just make sure there is space to ensure you can all sit together

It is a very informal setting with TV’s on the walls and still very much in keeping with a Clubhouse style

Food

The menu has a very affordable selection with burgers starting at £5

Loads of delicious side dishes, all mainly deep fat fried such as halloumi sticks and jalapeno bites

There are also some more expensive options such as a whole grilled lobster or Seabass. As you would expect these cost more than a burger would. You can check out an online menu if you are curious

Have you heard of the burger challenge? You can also find that at The Clubhouse. I have never been brave enough to try it…yet

a burger and chips on a platter

a phili cheese steak baguette and fries

All of the food is really well presented, an absolute taste sensation and seasoned to perfection

I highly recommend the milkshakes too, very thick and delicious made with ice cream

Take Away

Take away is an option as well which has been great during lockdown

3 burgers in takeaway boxes

loaded fries in a takeaway box

The fries and loaded fries portions are huge both for dinning in and take away

They are also on Uber Eats if you are local but can not collect yourself

If you are new to Uber Eats I have a £15 off discount code you can quote too making a nice saving: claires604 enter this at checkout. This is my referral code not just for use at The Clubhouse but any purchase over £20 for a new customer on their site

I will 100% be eating here again and again, it really is fantastic food

So if you have a holiday booked where you are traveling from Gatwick definitely look them up, you will not be disappointed

Let me know if this type of food appeals to you?
