Afternoon Tea At The Farmhouse Horley

I had afternoon tea at The Farmhouse, Horley in Surrey. Not something I do everyday but well worth a mention to anyone local

Going out for an afternoon tea was a hint my mum has been dropping for a while. She lives quite close to The Farmhouse in Horley and had seen adverts of it and really wanted to go. With it being her birthday soon I booked us a table and took her as a treat. A total surprise and I really glad we went

I called them to book a table as from reviews I had read it was very popular and I wanted to make sure we could get a table. Thankfully there were a few tables left at a late lunch slot which worked well for me. Afternoon tea is served from 12-5pm

I drove us there as my mum still didn’t know where we were going. Upon arrival the entrance to The Farmhouse is very grande, with a lovely rural feel. The gardens at the front were huge and there is a car park at the rear probably big enough for 50 cars, maybe even more

Afternoon tea at The Farmhouse Horley is clearly very popular. The outside tables at the front were full with customers and their tiered sandwich platters. Seeing this upon arrival was a good indication that we were in for a treat

Inside has a country pub feel

Being such a lovely day no surprise the front garden was bustling, but there is also ample seating inside

The decor has a rustic feel with low, dark wood beamed ceilings as you enter the entrance. This theme flows throughout as you go through to the bar area as well

Our outside table was laid ready and waiting. Our waitress showed us there and the pot of tea and milk was bought to us within minutes. We chose tea over coffee or Prosecco but all 3 are an option

Our afternoon tea was served

I don’t think either of us expected that amount of food just for the 2 of us

The bottom layer was filled with sandwiches, clearly all freshly made. A real mixture of fillings I am sure there is something for everyone

The middle layer was scones, 2 plain and 2 with fruit. As you can see from the picture they were pretty large scones too. Delivered warm and I thought they were delicious. I absolutely loved the jam in these little pots, and the clotted cream was also very nice

The top layer was more sweet treats. A selection of bitesized cakes and the macaroons were delicious too

I paid for 2 of us to eat and there felt like the was enough food for at least 3 of us. The price per head was £14.95 but if you choose Prosecco this is £6.95 more

Anything you don’t eat you can also take away in a doggy bag.  I love this as it is something they actively let you know so you don’t feel like you are wasting food

I found out they often host live bands and events, which I will be checking out in the future

Also, the Afternoon tea experience can be bought as a gift

Had a great time and pretty sure I will be back soon

Anyone in Horley or the surrounding area I don’t think you will be disappointed
