I Am Supporting Lucy’s Law

If you follow me on any of my social media accounts  Facebook /Twitter / Instagram  you will notice I often upload pictures and talk about my cats and my dogs

I currently have seven cats and two dogs all of which have come through a rescue centre

My cats vary in age from about 2 years old, to about 13 years old

My dogs we predict were born in October 2015

This is Lulu and Bonny when they were about 12 weeks old and finally strong enough to come to live with me

Growing up my parents always had at least two pet dogs in the family home at any time

In my teenage years I went on to be an obedience and agility handler for our family dogs, which lead me to winning awards and rosettes for my ability to lead and display my dog at shows

Since moving out in to my own home I took an interest in charity work and volunteered for Cats Protection

This a litter of kittens I fostered, their pregnant mother was taped up inside a box and dumped on the doorstep of a local pet shop

As an animal lover, one thing that has never sat comfortably with me is people that breed and sell their pets offspring to make money, I just don’t understand why you would do that

What Is Lucy’s Law

Shaking up parliament recently with its flood of support from celebrities and high profile people is what is known as Lucy’s Law

Lucy’s law is to ban the sale of puppies by pet shops and all commercial third party dealers, this extends to puppy farms and people breeding their pets

With the aim to ease the extreme levels of unwanted and abandoned pets

Support & Sign

There is currently a petition in circulation which you can sign here

As a nation of animal lovers, why are we still paying hundreds to thousands of pounds for puppies which have been breed and sold by puppy farmers or unregistered breeders with out licences or Kennel Club recognition?

Puppies sold in these conditions are often sick, traumatised and dysfunctional which leads to huge vets bills and even health problems in later life

Rescues are overflowing with unwanted dogs and puppies, as well as cats and kittens, which have already been fully health checked, microchipped, vaccinated and often come with insurance

Mans best friend needs to be heard, lets help get this movement passed in parliament and sign the petition
