5 Ways To Cosy Up At Home This Autumn

Large Bare Autumnal Looking Tree

I don’t want to speak to soon and say goodbye too Summer

But, the weather has definitely taken a turn. I had to wear a jacket to take the dogs for a walk yesterday and I haven’t had to do that for months

I’ve started putting more layers on and my cropped trousers are quickly becoming jeans

I do love autumn though, it probably is my favourite season. It’s that time of year when your happy to stay in, and snuggle on the sofa in your favourite tracksuit or jumper

There are more ways to embrace the autumnal vibes then changing your style and laying clothes

Your home can have a mini home make over to welcome in autumn and make you feel more cozy

A blanket for me in the ultimate snuggle requirement

Hot chocolate on the coffee table and a gorgeous chunky knit blanket draped across me, while watching something gripping on Netflix

The shops are already bursting with AW18 homewares and I just love it

So much choice of style and all just as soft and snugly as I hope for

Whatever your personal style is there is bound to be a blanket that works for you, take a look at these

I love candles

If you came to my house right now I can guarantee you will see at least 10 candles on display

Aldi Candle and Diffuser

It is not just the smell of scented candles I love, but the incredibly romantic feel to the dull yet warming light they create

They make incredible display pieces on console tables and fire places, as well as pretty features for shelves and display cases

Time to up the anti and get those babies lit and filling you home with sensational aromas of cinnamon and winter spice to create that autumnal feel

The days are getting shorter and the nights longer, enjoy them in the cosiest of settings

Wooden floors are great for keeping the house cool in Summer

But no one wants to tip top from the sofa to the kitchen for more popcorn after snuggling under the blanket watching TV, invest in a rug or 2

Rugs are great for also breaking up the flooring and adding a softer feel to a room as well

They can be pretty and practical, they come in every colour, shape and design. For the glam or the geeky, you can find a rug to meet your home style

A runner can be a great style rug to have along a hallway or landing area, rugs don’t have to just be for a room

Soft Furnishings

Deep warm hues are a great colour style to use in autumn

Swap those scatter cushions on the couch for something richer with more depth, Im thinking deep plum or merlot red

Change the window dressings too thick, lined curtains. Which are also practical as they will be more efficient at keeping the cold out of your home

You can also get a blanket to match

Change the bed lining to a more seasonal style. Take off those crisp white linen sheets and daisy print duvet set, and swap them for the burgundy checked set which just screams cozy

Invest in a slow cooker

Imagine walking in the door each night after work, and being greeted by the delicious smell of that stew you left cooking

Or that chilli con carne that you put on before you went to work that morning

The darker evenings will leave you less motivated to cook when you get in, having something tasty ready in minutes by the time you get home will make your day

A hearty warm meal is a great way to crank up the cosiness factor this autumn

Are you a lover of the cooler weather too, do you have all your autumnal season furnishings out? Let me know how you embrace the autumn

ive just bought my first slow cooker and i love it,its so easy to just put everything in it and leave it till i get home from work,it stops me from snacking which i tend to do now that the weather is colder,do you snack more depending on the weather?
